So what’s been happening in our world? What cool and creative things have we been up to? In a word, plenty. From new additions to the team to new business added to the client list, here’s the news from our neck of the woods.
Expansion continues at fresh HQ as Michael McCabe joins as Director of Video and Interactive, working alongside Judith Ross, our Head of Interactive, and Gareth Crook, our Head of Video.
Michael joins us from Logistik and will develop the fresh video and interactive departments further as stand-alone divisions of the Group. He will be working on some new, high profile projects - “I’m really looking forward to taking both divisions forward, working with fresh clients and building on the fantastic work already produced.’
Furthermore, three contract extensions with existing clients mean 2011 is already looking like a busy one for all our teams. Our Director Nick Porter said ‘'2010 has been another great year for the group and we are once again on an expansion drive with 5 new team members joining next month.”
Further details to follow!

Antony Wilson, previously of TBWA, joins the fresh team as Head of Group Finance, operating across all areas of the group. Working closely with the Directors and senior team, Antony will manage the ambitious growth and profitability plans for the company. It’s a busy time for Antony, who has just welcomed a new addition to the family with baby Oliver, born in July – “I’m looking forward to the exciting challenge and the opportunity to work with the team as the business grows.”
Group MD Nick Porter said, ‘Following a great year in 2009, 2010 has far exceeded our expectations and we have experienced an incredible uplift in new and existing business. We are on track to be in excess of the original £8 million+ turnover forecast for 2009/10 and Antony will be a great addition to the team in working to develop the business financially.”

The Great British Summer is upon us and its a busy time at fresh HQ. Rewards have been helping parents all over the country to entertain their children for free over the summer holidays with a promotion running in The Times. From getting mucky on farms, to children having the opportunity to expand their minds with science, Shakespeare and much more, the campaign was full of fun and available nationwide. Rewards have also been trying to get us all in shape for summer, working with The Telegraph on a promotion supporting new film The Rebound, offering readers a chance to have fun, boost their confidence and fitness with a free session of netball and Tae Kwon-Do. Our events and sales teams have been busy pitching, and celebrating a big new business win... more to follow on that one! We’re also working with a high street bank on a new project, and coming up with some bright ideas for a print manufacturer in Manchester. And we’ve just delivered some creative content and tasty gala dinners for our retail clients. The temperature may be rising outside, but we’re still fresh!

A big THANK YOU to everyone at fresh who voted and took part in the survey - what a great way to start the weekend, Woo Hoo!

We like a bit of healthy competition, and when we saw that The Drum wanted some wall chart poster concepts that easily allows fans to follow the games, we knew that was right up our street, especially as the competition was based on votes cast by visitors to the Drum website, with an open comments board. Our two entries proved highly controversial – some loved our designs, some felt more strongly about them than Marmite. However, a fresh approach always comes out on top, and it will be the fresh World Cup wall chart that is sent out to subscribers and available to download from The Drum website.
A big thanks to everyone who voted or commented – download your Lion wall chart and our winning chart here (print out both on A3 sized paper), and let’s hope a fresh victory translates into a South African victory this summer!

...and hooray for us too 'cos The fresh Group has made it to the finals in the 'Best Places to Work 2010' survey run by Crain's!
Seeing as how we're now up to 67 fresh faces we thought it would be a good idea (and potentially a bit of a gamble?!) to see how we're fairing on the HR front.
The Crain's scheme is designed to honour the area's leading employers looking specifically for companies that go beyond the norm to foster an enjoyable and meaningful work environment for their employees. Companies are judged based on the results of an employee survey independently administered by Quantum Market Research. The survey evaluates:
- Team effectiveness
- Retention probability
- Trust with co-workers
- Individual contribution
- Manager effectiveness
- Trust in senior leaders
- Feeling valued
- Work engagement
- People practices
The winners will be announced on Thursday June 17th in Manchester.

Wow, what a week…not only a new Government but what’s far more exciting is the news that fresh has won the New Look Communications Day event in September. This was a 4 way pitch and we found ourselves head to head in the final 2 way tussle.
Matalan have also commissioned fresh to produce the employee rebrand launch consisting of a large scale event and marketing communications; and our friends at Avon have been so pleased with us that, even though we have got 12 months left on our 2-year contract, they have extended it for a further 12 months due to the great relationship we have built…
…more exciting news to come from FIN House very soon

Off the back of yet more account wins, and the busiest year ahead for our studio, fresh has safeguarded its committment to quality by appointing Helen Mullen as Studio Production Manager taking our team total to a staggering 65!
Helen brings an in-depth knowledge of the creative industry having spent 12 years performing similar roles within busy studios. What she doesn’t know about the processes involved in producing cutting edge design, quality control and workflow isn’t worth knowing!
