It's all happening

So what's been happening in our world? What cool and creative things have we been up to? In a word, plenty. From new additions to the team to new business added to the client list, here's the news from our neck of the woods.

Unveilling... our new Exhibitions Division!

Following a record year, fresh are thrilled to announce the launch of our new service to add to our already expansive offering. The new exhibitions division reflects the wealth of experience we already have in this area, with a wide range of exhibition projects already undertaken since we launched in 2004, including those for Makro, Morrisons, Food Doctor and Santander.

One notable project is the START exhibition stand we produced for Marks & Spencer in 2010 and 2011. The START initiative is about showing what a more energy-efficient, cleaner and healthier future could look like, and how we can get there by taking small (or big) steps that have a positive impact on the environment. In all, over 30,000 people came through the M&S START festival space and our exhibition stand is currently a finalist in five industry awards this year - we are just waiting to hear the results!

fresh Operations Director Damian Besbrode said; “The success of the M&S START exhibition, in addition to the various other exhibition projects we’ve undertaken, demonstrates our strong capabilities in this area, and the launch of our exhibitions division helps streamline our offering and highlights this as a standalone service for our clients. This launch comes towards the end of another great year for The fresh Group, as we recruit a raft of new team members to support us with our new client wins, and the launch of this new division."

A fresh relationship with Francis House

We love to do our bit, and when we started to look for a nominated charity for the year, we didn't have to look far for a local charity making a huge difference. We are thrilled to announce that we have chosen Francis House as our nominated charity for 2011/12.
Based in Didsbury, South Manchester, Francis House provides care for children and young adults with life limiting conditions, as well as offering support and friendship to the whole family. Receiving only a small proportion of funds centrally, the hospice relies on donations to make up the rest of the substantial running costs to provide the services families desperately need. On 5th July, Francis House announced the building of a new facility adjacent to the existing site on Parrswood Road which will increase the amount of respite care it can offer, especially to older teenagers. The benefits of medical advances has meant an increasing number of teenagers and young adults require the services of the hospice but with a little more independence in an environment more suited to their age and needs, and as Francis House never put an age limit on their care, their resources are more stretched than ever before. The new unit will cost £3.6 million to build, and the campaign to raise funds for this was launched by Sir Alex Ferguson and Kirsty Howard.
fresh are thrilled to be working with a charity which is a huge success story of our region, opening in 1991 with little funding, now caring for hundreds of children and their families, and understand that whilst an appeal for a specific area, such as the new building, is less difficult to raise funds for as there is a tangible result, the daily running costs are the hospice’s biggest expenditure. Fresh aim to work with the charity, not only to fundraise for this, but also to offer support across all our group services. We’re so pleased to be working with such a fantastic local charity – the work they do and the support they offer is amazing and the team, both staff and volunteers, work tirelessly to create a happy, secure and restful environment offering much more than just medical support. The whole of the fresh team are looking forward to being part of Francis House as it moves forward in the next stage of its development.

Fresh faces and TopCashBack

Two new faces join North West based full service creative agency The fresh Group, both in the busy studio. Mark Bloore, previously of Photolink joins us as Senior Copywriter, and Barry Kenyon is our new Senior Artworker, previously of TBWA.

The fresh video team have also been busy, winning a commission to produce the first TV commercial for TopCashBack. Based around ‘The Taylor Family’, the commercial shows consumers how they could save £1,000’s each year by shopping online through www.TopCashBack.co.uk.

Shot on the latest broadcast HD camera, the client were delighted with the end result and are now in discussions with fresh for further advertising options including additional TV commercials as well as radio and print advertisements.

The TV commercial is currently transmitting across the UK on 14 stations in both daytime and primetime slots.

Patrick Howells, Client Services Director commented; “Mark and Barry are a welcome support to our already busy studio and join as a busy time for the business across all areas. They will be working with existing and new clients as we continue to expand and enhance our offering and our joined up approach across all divisions”

We are thrilled to annouce The fresh Group is now an Investors in People acccreditated organisation!
